June is the International LGBTQ month of Pride, which shines a spotlight on LGBTQ issues and celebrates achievements by members of the LGBTQ community. LGBTQ pride dates back to late 1969, where following a June raid on a Gay nightclub, organizers Craig Rodwell, Fred Sargeant, Ellen Broidy, and Linda Rhodes held the march Gay Pride March in New York City. Since then, Pride has spread throughout over 100 nations and is acknowledged on every continent.
The “Human” initiative started at Eastside Secondary School where leading inclusion teacher Ms. Cooper sold over 50 of these shirts to students and staff.
